Doug's Bio:
Douglas Lloyd was raised in Northumberland, PA. After taking several art classes in high school, he decided to attend Messiah College in Grantham, PA where he received a B.A. in Art Education in 1990.
In 1991, one month after getting married, Douglas and his wife Deb moved to North Carolina. Douglas taught Art at Union Middle School in Sampson County, North Carolina for five years. He then took a position with Pender County Schools and was the art teacher at Rocky Point Elementary School. After 2 more years, he transferred to Penderlea Elementary School where he is currently the K-8 Art Instructor. In 2004, he received a Master in School Administration Degree from UNC-Wilmington. In 2010, he started a part-time position with NCVPS (North Carolina Virtual Public School) and is currently teaching the Art of Game Design.
Over the years, Douglas has done works of art for friends, family and works on commission. He recently returned to block printing after first learning about it in his own Middle School classes and after revisiting this form of art in high school and college. He is now looking to perfect his talent and skills in printmaking. Along with devoting time to printmaking, he is also currently enjoying working with clay and improving his skill on the pottery wheel.
